Just like clockwork.
Clockwork has made all of our lives better. It's been a netgood in terms of the betterment of mankind; The jury is still out on TikTok.
When Britain first tryed to establish diplomatic ties with the Qing dynasty, they brought with them all sorts of clockwork intricacies so much so that the Chinese thought it embarassing how proud they were of all this tinkering; Nowadays, we laugh at dancing Chinese robots.
I was on the tube the other day and i suddenly realised how strange it was. I was underground, under a river. Who the hell came up with this idea? They must have sounded mad at first "What if we built a train... underground".
The tube was the first - you can tell because the name still carries a dismissal of its novelty, whoever came up with that name clearly thought it was stupid. Now there are underground rail systems the world over: subways, metros, MRTs, MTRs, even Eurostars. And they have much less stupid names.
Imagine telling someone in 2016 that the oscars will be hosted exclusively on 'Youtube.com'.
They'd think your an idiot.
